Programs Offered
- Employment Services: Empower Tennessee is an Employment Network (EN) provider and has Community Partner Work Incentives Counselors (CPWICs) on staff to assist in benefits counseling.
- Employment Support: Their Employment Support Schools and Skills Training provides job search assistance including skills assessments, interview training, resume development, and job placement.
- Technology Training: Empower Tennessee's technology program helps with adaptive technology (AT) questions. Staff who are daily users of AT teach individuals with disabilities how to use it, including navigation of computers with screen readers and smartphone apps.
- Youth Programs: Their Youth Programming helps young adults transition into life outside of school and into the workforce. This includes the annual summer Youth Leadership Academy and Community Based Transition Programs.
- Social Groups: The organization offers Empowered Gents, a social group of people with disabilities who identify as male, and Empowered Ladies, a social group of women who live in Tennessee that gathers to talk, learn, laugh, and empower one another.
