What is it?
The Medicaid Alternative Pathways (MAPs) program is offered through the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging. It helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities become more independent at home, at work, and in the community.
The program serves young people still in high school, those who have already left school, and people waiting for other services. It is also available to recent graduates transitioning to independent living and employment, as well as students in inclusive higher education programs across Tennessee.
