Metro Parks disABILITIES Sports Leagues
What are the The Metro Parks disABILITIES Sports Leagues?
The Metro Parks disABILITIES Sports Leagues’ mission and goals are to serve and provide weekly organized sports leagues in a variety of sports for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These leagues also give citizens and area students an opportunity to play, coach, cheer, and volunteer in an inclusion setting.
It is the leagues’ policy to give individuals a fun and safe sports experience at no cost to the individual (expect bowling, there is small free to participate in the bowling league). The leagues will include soccer, flag football, floor hockey, basketball, bowling, volleyball, bocce, golf, and softball to come in the future.
Coaches and referees of the league are non-profit volunteers. The future of the league includes divisions and clinics for children of all ages. You can sign up as an individual or as a team.
